A LED display of 8x8 pixels is only 64 LEDs, but a LED cube in 8x8x8 is 512 LEDs, an order of magnitude harder to make! This is the reason LED cubes are only made in low resolution.

The LED Matrix Studio is free application designed for electronics enthusiasts who want to speed up the development of their LED and matrix projects. It supports many different export options, animations and different sizes of matrix. Use the software to design fonts, graphics and animations for your PICAXE, PIC, Arduino, Parallax and any other electronics or microcontroller projects. Im building a 8x8x8 LED cube using Arduino Uno but I dont know anything about coding. Can someone please help me with this? I found some codes online but there are a few issues with those codes. They wont compile well. I dont think these codes were written to my particular specifications.
- K1 key: enter the mode selection, day and night mode control
- K2 key: enter the 3D8 PC mode (after the boot to press the K1 key is valid)
- K3 key: to enter the 42 kinds of offline animation mode (after the boot to press the K1 key is valid)
- K4 key: enter 14 kinds of offline audio mode (after the boot to press the K1 key is valid)

(bonus if the tutorial with the 3D LED software also has random Matrix style idle animation) Already built a 3x3x3 and it's simple enough to do custom animation although there isn't much to show for it. With 8x8x8 cube I wanted to have it spell out my name.

8.You can download the code here,modify and compile programs by keil ,then burn the program by STC-ISP-V4.86.
First,choose the right MCU (STC12C5A60S2).
Second,open the file of .HEX .
Third,choose the right COM (Automatic Identification) .
Fourth,Start burning,when click 'ISP programming',at the same time press the power button twice, power off and then power on .
Note : Download the microcontroller when the need for cold start (meaning that the microcontroller needs to power off and then re-power to download), the power switch as a cold start on the line, download the device is connected to the need to disconnect the switch and then re-power can be downloaded, Host computer connection method (no cold start, do not dial the power cord and then plug), with the power cord directly on the line.

Believe it or not, [Anred Zynch] had no soldering skills before starting this project! What we’re looking at here is an 8x8x8 LED cube set up as a Space Invaders style game with a Playstation 1 controller.
He was inspired by several other cubes like [Chr's], and the Borg cube by [Das-Labour]. The project makes use of an Arduino Mega 2560 R3 to drive the 512-LED array, and an Arduino Uno to take care of the sound effects during game play. It’s kind of like Space Invaders — but in 3D!
Complexity of building and wiring it aside, [Anred] has provided great instructions and the code for the entire project, so if you’re looking to recreate it or something like it, you can!
